Using Social Networking and Web 2.0 technologies lawfully in education

    27 Apr 2010 (Afternoon event)
    (12:15 lunch) 13:00 - 15:30
    EMFEC, Nottingham, Nottinghamshire

    --- CLOSED ---
Brief Details:This session will clarify where the legal risks and liabilities are and will provide guidance on how to embed Web 2.0 technologies legally in teaching and learning.

Information:Learners are expecting that they can interact in Facebook and YouTube as part of their learning. How can your college facilitate this lawfully?

The new social networking technologies provide opportunities for teaching and course delivery. What legal structures need to be in place to enable safe and legitimate use to be made of the opportunities that Web 2.0 technologies provide?

This event is being delivered by our sister organisation JISC Legal.

This session will begin with lunch and an opportunity to network with colleagues.

There is a morning session on "Copyright and technology-enhanced learning" on the same day that may also be of interest.

    JISC Advance Event Series

This event is part of the JISC Advance Event Series being organised by RSC East Midlands.

In the first half of 2010 we are celebrating the creation of JISC Advance with a series of free events that highlight the expertise of the eight individual JISC services that come under the JISC Advance umbrella. These events are designed to provide practical knowledge for delegates and introduce them to the services on offer from JISC Advance.

We are able to offer supported learning providers subsidised places for the duration of this series only. There is a maximum of 1 place per learning provider per event. There is also a fair use policy to ensure a spread of places across individuals and organisations.

For more information on JISC Advance go to www.jiscadvance.ac.uk.

NORMAL PRICE OF THIS EVENT - £45
SUBSIDISED PRICE (as part of the JISC Advance Series) - FREE
