| Brief Details: | The third in our current series of joint East and West Midlands regional e-portfolio forums focuses on the aspects of PDP/CPD for lifelong learning. While we are all aware of the burgeoning requirement to reflect, record, and learn from our professional practice, we are also aware that this process of experiential learning needs to be integrated seamlessly into our busy working lives. This event will highlight current effective practice in both HE centric PDP and professional CPD. The use of e-portfolio systems and associated learning processes may help facilitate this? Come along to find out what methods are having an impact upon this growing need to adopt a lifelong learning ethos. |
| Information: | This one day forum addresses the issues of adopting a lifelong learning approach to recording and reflecting upon experiences in a professional status as an adult, and ensuring that HE students are building employability, reflective thinking into their studies. The day aims to be a discursive mix of presentations and facilitated discussions covering the trials and tribulations associated with the relative unease of recording and reflecting upon ones own practice. While we are aware of existing e-portfolio systems that claim to facilitate this practice, the reality is somewhat different, and we want to know why this is. We aim to bring together some practitioners who are adopting processes and (e-portfolio) systems that can help students and staff to adopt a reflective stance in either studies or maintaining their professional status. For the very first time on one of our e-portfolio forums we are inviting along a select number of leading e-portfolio vendors that will be available all day for you to discuss and try out their platforms. These vendors have been chosen according to their pedigree and track record of providing solutions that can help facilitate the recording and reflecting upon "critical incidents" in a manner that suits varied organisations and learning processes.
